Some of my reactions as I read chapter 11... I'll come back later to talk more seriously about things. Please feel free to read along with me and share your reactions and start some discussions, but please NOTHING that happens after Chapter 11. And only read this if you've finished Chapter 11!
Crazy Cat!OK, I adore Suzanne Collins, and I adore her writing, but sometimes she sure does flat out explain the things that don't necessarily need explaining. Did we need the ways that Katniss is Crazy Cat spelled out for us quite that much? (I'm sorry... I still love you!)
Love that Katniss couldn't even deliver one line, couldn't even function now. That's why we love her... because she has to be unscripted. Because even though she's a stone bitch sometimes, you know that if she's feeling something, she's feeling it. She's got such an honesty. Even when she's acting for the cameras.
Rescuing Peeta! Thank God! I couldn't handle this much longer....
But, but Gale.... scary... this was one of my niece's theories before the book came out... that Gale would get killed saving Peeta. That just can't happen. If it does, Katniss will never be able to choose Peeta... she'd spend forever feeling guilty over Gale...
